Ariana the Mermaid

Thanks to Meredith who posted about Dragonflyshollow where I found Ariana....LOVE her....She will be 1 of Vivianrose's Christmas gifts!!

Vivianrose Turned 7

WOW!! I can hardly believe that my baby turned 7!! Nov 21st was her birthday.

We had a Magic Party for her on the 22nd. Vivianrose has been very interested in magic for some time now, so this was the perfect theme!!
My mom and I did all the party planning....
We had a silver star theme w/ royal blue, black and white accents.
We served fruit and star shaped sandwiches for the kids. For the adults we had Roasted Tomato Pasta (this is the best recipe!! I will add it to the end...easy and always a crowd favorite!!

For our party favors we ordered Top Hats to hold the favors from Oriental Trading Company, as well as, Magic wands and Stuffed Bunnies....we tied blue ribbon around their neck and we also make Star shaped sugar cookies that we iced with blue icing...

The magic cake!! It ws so yummy....if you are in our area it's from Yankee Doddle Bakery in Oxnard, Ca....hands down the best place to get cakes :)

Rigatoni with Roasted Tomatoes

3 pounds cherry tomatoes

6 garlic cloves, peeled and quartered

1/4 cup olive oil

1/4 tsp crushed red-pepper flakes, or more to taste (I often don't use this)

coarse salt and fresh ground pepper

3 springs thyme

1 pound rigatoni

1 cup (3 ounces) finely grated Pecorino Romano cheese

1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice

1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. On a rimmed baking sheet, combine tomatoes, garlic, 2 Tablespoons oil, red-pepper flakes, 2 teaspoons salt, 1/4 teaspoon pepper and the thyme. Toss to coat completely. Roast until tomatoes are softened and garlic is golden, tossing halfway through, 35 to 40 minutes.

2. Cook pasta until al dente. Reserve 1/4 cup pasta water, then drain pasta and return to pot. Toss with tomato mixture, cheese, lemon juice, remaining 2 Tablespoons oil, and reserved pasta water. Season with salt and pepper. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Korn Concert

What a great time I had last night....I put on a benefit concert for my mom's preschool...The band KORN preformed for us!!! It was so much fun....Jonathan was amazing on stage!! It was something that I had tons of fun putting together and our little school benefited from lots of people seeing a great live show in Malibu :)

Long Time

Ok....it's been forever since I posted! I have to get back in the habit of this blog...
It's fun to do and a good way for my family to keep up with us :)

I think I'm Crazy!!!

Ok...So Vivianrose has tons of cute clothes....and we wear the same 10 things over and over! LOL
I love Matilda Jane and GenMarie and of course some cute Etsy things...but it's just not getting worn.....I went through the closet last night and was brutal!! I have about 50 things to sell...
I'm in picture taking mode today...and I will be listing TONS of cute Sz 6 things!!

Lazy Day Saturday

It's 9:00 am and we are all still lounging in bed! But it is a nice comfortable feeling...
I think we are headed to do some Antique shopping today, a few last minute Mother's Day things!

I also started to really go through Vivinrose's closet....we needed to purge a few things....I will be working on some Ebay listing this weekend....Vivianrose helped me, if she didn't "Love Love it" it went in the pile of things to pass on to another little girl....

It's been awhile!!

Wow....we've been busy :) I have a few women's listing on Ebay...Patrick had sinus surgery on Monday...I'm hosting a Matilda Jane Trunk Show on Friday....Whew!! Where does the week go?

Thoughts for Thursday

Today was a bit chilly here in SoCal...I am ready for it to warm up and stay warm!!
We made scones with the kids at school today, almond scones! They LOVED them. I think their favorite part was putting the jam on them by themselves....they thought that was so cool! LOL
Both of my girls called me from school today to pick them up :( I think they just needed some more at home time. Isabelle NEVER does that, so when she called I knew I had to pick her up, and Vivianrose has been a little sensitive lately. She is my emotional one :-)
Vivianrose also had Piano today, boy does she love that!! Her teacher Andrea is a good match for Vivianrose. I snapped a few pics of Vivianrose this afternoon :) LOVE this GenMarie dress....

My Sick Girl

Vivianrose has been sick for 2 days...yesterday she had a fever and a cough. She slept about 1/2 the day. Today she woke up with a slight fever too, but towards the afternoon Vivianrose perked up!! She was up for a Spring Fashion Show...She LOVES the camera! LOL

Isabelle was out in the yard the other day and took these amazing pictures!! Just look at how beautiful she is!! Her eyes are just stunning...I can't believe she is 13...she looks so grown-up here...
She is turning into an amazing young lady! I'm so very proud of her :)

Thursday Thoughts

This week has gone by so fast!!! We are getting ready at school for our annual Earth Day pancake breakfast...The kids sing songs, plant flowers and eat pancakes! What could be better at 8 am on Saturday morning? Vivianrose has had so much fun going to her old pre-school all week with me...She is still on Spring Break from 1st grade. She played so much today that she couldn't even keep her eyes open anymore at about 6:30 pm! Now that's a lot of playing.
I was just opening my mail and I got some really cute outfits in the mail today....
I got the perfect twirling dress from Loves Me Not on Etsy.....It is TDF cute!! We got some ruffle pants to complete a few of our Matilda Jane sets...and I got a cute GenMarie Knot top.....
I will post pics of Vivanrose in them tomorrow :)

Happy Easter!

We had a great day today....It was beautiful in Sunny Malibu today....Isabelle and I went to my mom's around noon to start cooking. Isabelle made a YUMMY Lemon Cake, I made the crab legs and mashed potatoes.
Vivianrose was so excited to see Edith in her basket...she hasn't put her down all day! It was a chore to get Isabelle to smile for any pictures!! Moody 13 year old girls....they are tough! LOL

Patrick wasn't feeling well, so he stayed home trying to get better.
We left my mom's and got home about 5:30 (she lives about 5 minutes from us...very nice!)
Both girls had a good time telling Patrick all about the day :)
We are about to watch a movie and snuggle up on the couch...1 more week of Spring Break for the girls....I love having them home!!!

Easter Letter

I am so behind this year!! For Isabelle I'm going out today to get some iTunes GC's, lip gloss and a little bit of candy....Vivianrose saw me browsing on Etsy (a dangerous place! LOL) while I was looking at some cute stuffed animals....Well she saw Edith the Mouse and said she had to have her! LOL
She was determined...she got out some notecards and wrote the Easter Bunny a note!!!
I convo'd the Etsy seller Tiddlywinks to see if they could ship the next day....They said they could...
YEAH!!! I got this cutie in the mail yesterday :)
Vivianrose is going to be so excited when she sees Edith in her Easter Basket!! Not sure what else is going in there yet....Since I'm going out for Isabelle today, we will pick up some more for Vivianrose too.....

Headed to the Mall looking CUTE!!!

Isabelle went to a friend's house for a sleep-over, so Vivianrose and I had a few errands to do at Target today...and also a return at Janie & Jack...We made it a "Mommy Day"....We ate lunch at the mall...Potstickers...her favorite!! She could eat 6 all by herself. It has been so nice here we've been breaking into our Spring clothes....This cute little skirt from GenMarie was actually from the Fall line, but I think it screams Spring!! The tank and denim jacket are from the Gap.

Lion and Tigers and Bears Oh My!!

We went to the LA Zoo yesterday....We had so much fun!!! My mom and I took Vivianrose, she is on Spring break for two weeks!! Vivianrose was so patient waiting in line...who knew on a Tuesday at 1pm there would be a 30 min. wait to get into the zoo!

And who knew that so many young couples with NO KIDS would be at the zoo! It was Sunny and about 78 yesterday....A great day to breakout our Spring Dresses....That little cutie Vivianrose is wearing is from Mini Boden....LOVE their things check them out at www.bodenusa.com

Vivianrose LOVED the Flamingos!! WOW...they are so beautiful...the colors are amazing!!!

The zoo is a place we are going to visit a little more often...Anything to make her smile!!

Easter Egg Hunt

Vivianrose, Momo and I went to a Easter Egg party today...What fun that was!!!!

About 75 kids ready to run around and put as many eggs as they could in their baskets :)

Everytime we turned around we saw someone we knew....I guess when your Mom owns the most popular pre-school in Malibu you know a lot of people! LOL
It was HOT today in Malibu...the sun was shining and we just had the BEST time!!!
We had to limit her to 20 eggs to give the little ones a chance! LOL

All in all we had a great day!!

13 Going On 30........

Yesterday April 2nd was my oldest daughter's birthday...She turned 13!!! We had so much fun!!!
Fifteen 13 year old girls having a good time....They went to the beach and ran around....ate so much food it was a bit insane! We ran to the store 3 times for more things to eat! LOL
Then they watched Twilight....always a highlight for 13 year old girls...Edward is pretty dreamy :)
Isabelle got a new MacBook and was so excited!!! She really is a great kid....4.0 GPA, great friends, plays volleyball.....I feel very lucky :)
(Isabelle is in the middle sitting on the rope swing....yes we have a swing in our living room:)

So Vivianrose is such a ham! LOL We love trying on new clothes...she just does the cutest things for the camera.....We got this cute little skirt in the mail this week....from Gingerlouiseclothing on Etsy.com.....Have you checked out Etsy.com? You totally should!! It is addicting though....

Vivianrose was so much fun today!! She had dance class and that always puts her in a great mood!!
We tried on some of our new Naartjie today.....If you've never tried Naartjie you should!! It is cute comfy and affordable :) We also tried on some Gap dresses...Vivianrose can be such a ham for the camera!

Vivianrose has been waiting literally months for her front tooth to fall out...It started out wiggly in November....and it wiggled a little more week by week. For all of March it has been VERY wiggly and Vivianrose couldn't wait for the Tooth Fairy to show up!! But her tooth wasn't cooperating....
FINALLY on Sunday she was eating Mac n Cheese and out it popped! YEAH!!!
Vivianrose was so excited....I think she must have spent about 20 minutes in the mirror! LOL
Oh and the Tooth Fairy left $5.00

Clarks are Cool

YEAH!!! I found shoes that are a little bit cute and a lot comfy!!
I never really buy brown shoes.....but I do have a lot of clothes that call for them....so I took the plunge with these....Cute right?
My mom went to the mall with me, we had the sock debate on the shoe store...you know the one. You like the shoes, but what socks do you wear? Do you even wear socks? Who knew that finding kinda cute and totally comfy shoes would be work!

Why are cute comfy shoes hard to find?

Ok...I'm always on the hunt for comfy shoes and are at least a little cute! LOL
My mom owns a pre-school here in Malibu and I come everyday to help her out :-) LOVE IT!!!
But my feet hurt!! We walked up and down the pavement driveway about a million times a day...
I bought 2 pairs of shoes from Nordstrom's last week....in the store the were heaven...well after 1 day of wearing them...my feet still hurt! Granted not as bad as before...but they hurt none the less....So I'm off today to the mall AGAIN to look for more shoes....I'm not asking for a lot...just a little bit cute and a lot comfy! Wish me luck!!!

There's always a first time...

This is a new adventure! I love reading cool and unique Blogs...so I thought it would be fun to share one too

Vivianrose is 6 and Isabelle is 13....Life with a 13 year old girl...not what I expected! She is great, but she has lots of ideas and opinions and a style that is very much her own...Vivianrose just loves to look like a girly girl....whimsical and comfy are her requirements :)
Finding cool and different things is so much fun! I thought I could share that with you :) I love to get good deals on fun products and I think you might too...
